FIMA Industries has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainable waste management solutions in West Africa through strengthened partnerships with key stakeholders involved in the Lagos Waste Treatment Project.

During a recent business visit to Ghana, FIMA Industries Chief Executive Officer Markus Maierhofer met with Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Founder and Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, to review progress on the project and discuss opportunities for deeper collaboration in delivering large-scale environmental infrastructure.

The Lagos Waste Treatment Project is designed to support sustainable waste management and improve resource recovery in one of Africa’s fastest-growing metropolitan areas. FIMA Industries, together with its partners, is deploying advanced waste treatment technologies aimed at enhancing waste processing efficiency and supporting environmental sustainability objectives.

The discussions highlighted the importance of long-term partnerships, technical expertise, and collaborative approaches in the successful implementation of major infrastructure projects across the continent.

As part of the visit, Maierhofer also engaged with long-standing project partners, including Nana Osei Mainoo, Egya-Boi Awoonor, and Gottfried Reither of Komptech GmbH. The parties exchanged views on project implementation and future opportunities for cooperation in the waste management and environmental services sector.

According to FIMA Industries, the collaboration with its Ghanaian and international partners continues to play a critical role in delivering innovative infrastructure solutions that address growing urban waste management challenges.

The visit also provided an opportunity to strengthen business relationships through informal engagements, reflecting the longstanding partnerships that have supported the company’s activities in the region.

FIMA Industries noted that sustainable infrastructure development depends not only on technology and investment but also on trust, shared objectives, and enduring partnerships among stakeholders committed to creating long-term social, economic, and environmental impact.
