The
Kenya All Optical Summit 2026 has underscored the importance of advanced fibre
infrastructure in supporting next-generation digital technologies, including
artificial intelligence and 5G networks.
The
summit, held in Nairobi, was jointly hosted by the ICT Authority, the African
Telecommunications Union (ATU), the Telecommunications Service Providers of
Kenya (TESPOK), and Huawei Kenya under the theme “Future-Proof Fibre
Connectivity for AI Era.”

Discussions
at the summit focused on the strategic role of all-optical networks in enabling
large-scale deployment of 5G services, accelerating the adoption of artificial
intelligence, and strengthening Kenya’s broader digital transformation agenda.
Stakeholders highlighted that robust fibre connectivity is essential for
handling increasing data demands and supporting emerging digital applications.
The
event brought together representatives from the Ministry of Information
Communications and the Digital Economy Kenya, the ATU, the World Broadband
