MTN South Sudan has launched the Rumbek ICT Hub in Lakes State as part of its efforts to expand access to digital skills, technology and innovation opportunities for young people and communities.

The centre, officially launched on September 8, 2026, is designed to provide digital learning resources, ICT training, innovation opportunities and capacity-building programmes for students, entrepreneurs, job seekers and other community members.

MTN South Sudan Chief Executive Officer Mapula Bodibe said the initiative is intended to equip young people with the skills and access to technology needed to participate in the country’s digital transformation.

“By providing access to technology and digital skills, we are investing in the future of the youth of Lakes State and helping to build a generation capable of driving innovation and socio-economic development,” Bodibe said.

The hub will provide a platform for learners and aspiring entrepreneurs to develop digital competencies, access learning resources and explore opportunities to apply technology to practical challenges.

The launch was held in partnership with National Minister of ICT and Postal Services Hon. Ateny Wek Ateny and the Government of Lakes State, whose support was acknowledged by MTN South Sudan.

The Rumbek ICT Hub forms part of MTN’s broader commitment to expanding digital inclusion and ensuring that communities across South Sudan participate in the country’s digital transformation.
