Kenya’s
ICT Authority has held discussions with Hewlett Packard Enterprise to explore
collaboration on artificial intelligence and digital technology solutions.
The
meeting, hosted by ICT Authority Chief Executive Officer Jessy Maruti, brought
together a delegation from HPE led by George Odula.
Discussions
focused on developing solutions around AI and advancing digital technologies to
support Kenya’s ongoing digital transformation agenda.

Maruti
highlighted several government-led initiatives aimed at strengthening the
country’s digital ecosystem, including the Smart Academy programme, the Kenya
Digital Acceleration Programme, and the rollout of ICT hubs across all wards.
Under
the Smart Academy initiative, the government is targeting the training of up to
20 million young people with digital employability skills, while the ICT hubs
are intended to provide accessible workspaces and internet connectivity for
youth to engage in online opportunities.
The
ICT Authority also acknowledged HPE’s continued support and partnership, noting
its contribution to the successful hosting of the 15th Connected Africa Summit.

Senior
officials present at the meeting included ICT Authority Deputy Director for
Capacity Development Lynette Ringeera, Director of Corporate Services Richard
Koech, and Deputy Director for Infrastructure Alex Njihia.
The
engagement reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen public-private partnerships
in driving innovation, skills development, and digital inclusion in Kenya.
