Nigeria showcases culture at ITU Council Chair reception in Geneva

Nigeria highlighted its cultural heritage on the global stage during the 2026 International Telecommunication Union Council Chair reception, held alongside ongoing engagements of the International Telecommunication Union.

The reception, hosted under the leadership of Bosun Tijani, featured performances and culinary presentations that showcased the country’s creative and cultural identity.

Renowned singer Asa delivered a live performance, while Chef Fregz curated a selection of Nigerian cuisine for attendees.

The event brought together global delegates participating in ITU Council activities, offering a platform to combine diplomatic engagement with cultural exchange.

Officials noted that the reception underscored the role of culture in fostering connections among nations, even as discussions continue on advancing global connectivity and digital development.

The showcase formed part of Nigeria’s broader engagement at the ITU Council, where member states are deliberating on key issues shaping the future of the global digital ecosystem.
