Senegal has recognised winners of the Gov’Athon 2025 innovation challenge, underscoring the government’s commitment to leveraging innovation to transform public administration.

The award ceremony, held at the President Mamadou Dia Administrative Building, was chaired by Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko and brought together government officials, private sector partners, and innovators.

The Gov’Athon initiative is designed to accelerate public sector transformation by promoting the development of innovative, high-impact solutions aimed at improving public service delivery.

Bassirou Sonko, whose organisation partnered the initiative, highlighted the importance of collaboration in driving innovation and supporting the emergence of practical solutions to national challenges.

During the ceremony, representatives from partner organisations presented awards to selected winners, recognising their contributions and potential to shape the future of public service innovation in Senegal.

The initiative reflects a broader strategy by the Senegalese government to position innovation as a central pillar in the modernisation of state institutions and public sector reform.

Officials noted that continued collaboration between government, private sector actors, and development partners will be critical in scaling solutions generated through initiatives such as Gov’Athon.

The event also highlighted the role of young innovators in contributing to national development, with stakeholders emphasising the importance of nurturing local talent and fostering an ecosystem that supports innovation-driven growth.
