Representatives
from G7 member states have concluded two days of discussions focused on
advancing key digital and technology priorities ahead of the upcoming
ministerial meeting scheduled for May 29.
The
working session, hosted in Paris, brought together delegations from Group of
Seven countries, including France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United
Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union. The discussions were led
under the framework of the French presidency of the G7.

The
negotiations centered on four core priority areas: artificial intelligence
security, the integration of AI into the economy to drive innovation,
strengthening the resilience and sustainability of the digital sector, and
enhancing the protection of minors online.
French
Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs, Anne Le
Hénanff, highlighted the constructive nature of the exchanges, noting that the
discussions contributed to shaping deliverables for the forthcoming
ministerial-level engagements.

The
meeting also involved contributions from France’s Direction Générale des
Entreprises, which supported coordination and negotiation efforts.
Outcomes
from the working group are expected to inform policy alignment and
collaborative frameworks among G7 members on critical digital issues,
particularly in the governance and deployment of emerging technologies.
