Autoridade
Nacional de Comunicações (ANACOM) has carried out an institutional cooperation
mission in Luanda, Angola aimed at strengthening international collaboration in
the regulation and development of the digital sector.
The
ANACOM delegation included Manuel Cabugueira, Director at the authority, and
Manuel Costa Cabral, Consultant to the Office of External Relations and
Development.
During
the mission, the delegation held meetings with the Angolan Institute of
Communications, the Embassy of Portugal in Angola and the Delegation of the
European Union to Angola to discuss opportunities for collaboration in
strengthening regulatory capacity.
The
discussions included the presentation of the training initiative ICT Policy and
Regulation – Institutional Strengthening, which aims to support the
institutional and technical development of communications regulation.
Officials
said the meetings also helped identify potential areas of cooperation to
advance regulatory knowledge sharing and enhance the development of the digital
and electronic communications sectors.
The
mission forms part of ANACOM’s broader efforts to promote international
cooperation and support sustainable development in digital communications
through regulatory expertise and institutional partnerships.
