UNDP Ethiopia has hosted a delegation from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan at the timbuktoo Africa ManuTech Hub as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation in Africa’s innovation and manufacturing sectors.

The visit was led by Takahashi Misako, Director-General of the African Affairs Department at Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who toured the hub and engaged with young African entrepreneurs and innovators.

The Timbuktoo ManuTech Hub brings together startups working in the manufacturing sector, providing a platform for participants to learn, collaborate and develop solutions aimed at addressing industrial and technological challenges across the continent.

During the engagement, officials highlighted Japan’s continued partnership with the United Nations Development Programme in supporting initiatives that promote innovation, entrepreneurship and skills development among Africa’s youth.

Organisers said the visit reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships that support Africa’s startup ecosystem and expand opportunities for young innovators working to develop new technologies and manufacturing solutions for the continent.
