Stakeholders
from Africa and Europe are meeting in Turin, Italy, to explore stronger
collaboration on artificial intelligence aimed at driving sustainable
development and shared innovation.
The
discussions are taking place during the event titled “Shaping AI Futures Across
Africa and Europe,” hosted at the International Training Centre of the ILO on
the United Nations Campus in Turin.
The
gathering brings together African artificial intelligence innovators, Italian
and European companies, and development partners to examine practical pathways
for scaling AI initiatives and strengthening cooperation across regions.

Participants
highlighted the need to move beyond fragmented projects toward a more
coordinated ecosystem that supports innovation while delivering measurable
benefits for people, the environment and economic progress.
Organisers
noted that partners from Africa and Italy are increasingly shifting from
co-design discussions toward operational scale, reflecting a shared commitment
to deploying artificial intelligence solutions that address real-world
challenges.
The
dialogue forms part of broader efforts by the AI Hub for Sustainable
Development to foster collaboration between technology stakeholders across
Africa and Europe and ensure that the development of artificial intelligence
contributes to inclusive and sustainable growth.
