Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Cosmas Luckyson Zavazava, has paid a courtesy call on Temesgen Tiruneh, Deputy Prime Minister of the Ethiopia, during a visit that highlighted the country’s progress in digital governance and connectivity.

During the meeting, Zavazava toured the MESOB Center alongside the Deputy Prime Minister. The facility provides integrated e-government services designed to improve access to public services and enhance convenience for citizens.

The MESOB Center was launched on April 26, 2025 by Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, as part of the government’s broader digital transformation agenda. Powered by locally developed technology, the center consolidates both public and private services under one roof, enabling citizens to access services through a faster and more connected platform.

According to officials, the initiative represents Ethiopia’s efforts to promote innovation, strengthen digital infrastructure, and advance self-reliance in technology development.

Zavazava commended Ethiopia for the initiative, noting that projects such as the MESOB Center contribute to expanding universal, affordable, and meaningful connectivity while improving the delivery of government services through digital platforms.
