Ethiopia and Safaricom Ethiopia Telecommunications PLC have sponsored the Code
Her Future Hackathon in partnership with Cheche, an initiative aimed at
empowering women developers and entrepreneurs in the technology sector.
The
hackathon brought together aspiring women innovators to develop solutions that
could contribute to the future of digital finance and entrepreneurship.
Organizers said the initiative is designed to create opportunities for women in
technology by providing access to tools, mentorship, and platforms that support
innovation.
Through
the partnership, participants were given the opportunity to build and test
solutions using digital platforms and application programming interfaces
(APIs), enabling them to gain practical experience in developing
technology-driven solutions.
The
initiative also highlighted the importance of diversity in innovation and the
role of inclusive platforms in nurturing the next generation of women leaders
in technology and digital finance. Organizers congratulated participants for
their creativity and contributions, expressing optimism about the potential
impact of their ideas in shaping future digital solutions.
