The
Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs of Senegal,
Alioune Sall, has met with Personal Representative of the Premier of New
Brunswick, Canada, to the International Organization of La Francophonie, Isabelle
Doucet and her delegation to discuss strengthening digital cooperation between
Senegal and the Canadian province.

The
discussions focused on New Brunswick’s strategy toward Francophone Africa,
highlighting priority areas including education, ethical workforce recruitment,
and business development. The Canadian delegation emphasized the province’s
academic and scientific ecosystem, particularly its expertise in artificial
intelligence.
Minister
Sall outlined Senegal’s strategic priorities under the Senegal 2050 Vision and
the New Technological Deal, aimed at establishing the country as a regional
digital hub. He also noted the potential of Senegal’s young population, with a
median age of 19, as a key driver for digital economy growth and innovation.

The
meeting explored potential collaboration in training, skills development, and
technological innovation, setting the stage for a mutually beneficial
partnership between Senegal and New Brunswick.
