MTN South Sudan has signed a Memorandum of
Understanding with Educare Organization South Sudan and the Ministry
of General Education and Instruction South Sudan to promote digital learning and
improve access to education through connectivity.
The
agreement aims to provide internet connectivity to selected schools, enable
zero-rated educational platforms that allow students to access learning
resources free of charge, and strengthen teachers’ digital literacy through
targeted training programmes.
The
signing ceremony was attended by Mapula Bodibe, Chief Executive Officer of MTN
South Sudan; William Anyoun, Executive Director of Educare Organization South Sudan; Omot
Okony,
Undersecretary at the Ministry of General Education and Instruction; and Kuyok
Abol Kuyok,
Minister of General Education and Instruction.
Officials
from the participating institutions said the partnership represents an
important step toward empowering students and educators by providing digital
tools and resources needed to support learning in an increasingly connected
world.
The
collaboration is expected to contribute to broader efforts to build a more
inclusive and digitally enabled education system in South
Sudan.
