The
Office for Nigerian Digital Innovation (ONDI) joined Honourable Minister Dr.
‘Bosun Tijani and a high-level Nigerian delegation for the Nigeria–Sierra Leone
Digital Economy Bilateral Mission, a two-day engagement aimed at deepening
regional collaboration and advancing Africa’s digital transformation.
Represented
by National Coordinator Victoria Fabunmi and other officials, ONDI took part in
strategic discussions focused on innovation policy, startup ecosystem
development, digital talent pipelines, and the evolution of artificial
intelligence across the continent.

Throughout
the mission, both countries engaged in bilateral meetings, MoU signings,
technical working group sessions, and visits to digital ecosystem hubs. These
activities explored avenues for cooperation in digital public infrastructure,
broadband connectivity, interoperable systems, digital identity, cybersecurity,
data governance, responsible AI, and cross-border digital trade.
The
delegation also examined opportunities to strengthen institutional capacity,
foster digital literacy, and support public–private partnerships that can
accelerate economic growth.
The
mission highlighted a shared commitment by Nigeria and Sierra Leone to promote
inclusive digital development and reaffirmed the importance of regional
collaboration in shaping Africa’s digital future.
