ITU and Chad discuss collaboration on emerging technologies

The Director of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau, Cosmas Zavazava, has met with Zara Ahmed, General Director of Artificial Intelligence at Chad’s Ministry of Telecommunications, to discuss enhanced cooperation on digital development and emerging technologies.

The meeting focused on capacity-building in policy and regulatory frameworks, particularly in relation to new and emerging technologies, as Chad works to accelerate its digital transformation agenda. Both sides explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration under the Early Warnings for All initiative and deepen Chad’s participation in ITU Development study groups.

Discussions also touched on expanding technical cooperation aimed at boosting the country’s start-up ecosystem, with an emphasis on supporting innovation and local talent.

The engagement reinforced ITU’s commitment to partnering with Chad to advance inclusive and sustainable digital growth.
