Ethio Telecom executives visit Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute

A
senior delegation from Ethio Telecom has paid a visit to the headquarters of
the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute (EAII), underscoring growing
collaboration between the two institutions in advancing AI development in
Ethiopia.
During
the visit, the Director General of the Institute, Dr. Goldu Gachena, provided a
detailed briefing on the organisation’s ongoing activities, highlighting its
work in developing problem-solving AI technologies across research, education,
and training. He emphasized that the Institute is focused on building solutions
that address national challenges and support technological transformation.
Ethio
Telecom CEO Frehayat Tamru commended the progress made by the Institute, noting
that the team observed substantial capacity-building efforts aimed at
translating artificial intelligence technologies into practical applications
across multiple sectors.
The
engagement reflects increasing national momentum toward leveraging AI to
enhance digital services, improve efficiency, and drive innovation across
Ethiopia’s public and private sectors.
