The
Rwanda Space Agency (RSA) has officially launched the second edition of Space
Week 2025, beginning with outreach visits to the Rwanda Coding Academy and
the University of Rwanda. The initiative marks the start of a nationwide
student engagement campaign aimed at inspiring young Rwandans to explore
careers in space science, technology, and innovation.

During
the visits, students interacted with the RSA team, gaining insights into
Rwanda’s growing role in the global space sector and learning about
opportunities in satellite technology and geospatial data applications. The
sessions showcased strong enthusiasm and curiosity among students eager to
contribute to the country’s expanding space ambitions.
This
year’s Space Week aligns with the United Nations’ World Space Week
celebration, observed annually from October 4 to 10. The 2025 global theme, “Living
in Space,” highlights technological advancements that make human life
beyond Earth possible.
The
Rwandan edition will feature a series of nationwide activities, including
public exhibitions, expert talks, and interactive learning sessions designed to
promote awareness of how space science supports sustainable development and
improves daily life.

Through
these engagements, RSA aims to strengthen national capacity in space science
and technology while fostering a culture of innovation among young people. The
initiative underscores Rwanda’s commitment to advancing its space agenda and
contributing to the global pursuit of scientific progress and sustainability.
