Djibouti has held
discussions with the World Bank on mobilising resources to support the digital
transformation of public administration, with a focus on modernising public
services, strengthening administrative efficiency and improving the quality of
services provided to citizens.
The meeting took place on
the sidelines of the Djiboutian delegation’s participation in the Global AI
& Digital Summit 2026 in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
H.E. Mrs. Safia Mohamed Ali
Gadileh, Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Economy and Innovation, met
with Mr. Ousmane, Regional Vice President of the World Bank, accompanied by his
technical team.
The discussions provided an
opportunity to review Djibouti’s priorities for the digital transformation of
public administration and explore prospects for supporting projects aimed at
modernising public services and improving administrative efficiency.
The two sides also focused
on the prospects for mobilising the resources necessary to achieve this
strategic ambition. The World Bank welcomed the concerns expressed by the
Djiboutian side, opening up prospects for dialogue on the next steps.
The engagement is in line
with the Djiboutian Government’s desire to make digital technology a lever for
modernising the State, improving public governance and developing services for
the benefit of citizens.
The government described the
engagement as a dynamic of cooperation to be consolidated to accelerate the
digital transformation of Djibouti’s public administration.
