The International Mobile
Satellite Organization (IMSO) has completed its 1,000th Long-Range
Identification and Tracking (LRIT) audit, marking a major milestone in its
oversight of the global LRIT system.
IMSO said the achievement
reflects more than 17 years of work to support the reliability, security and
effective operation of the LRIT system worldwide.
The milestone was delivered
through the dedicated efforts of IMSO’s LRIT audit team, Mr Halil Keskin and Mr
Pier-Giovanni Taranti, whose expertise and commitment have helped maintain high
standards of compliance across the international LRIT community.
The organization said the
completion of the 1,000th audit underscores its continuing role in
strengthening maritime safety and security through independent oversight of the
LRIT system.
The milestone highlights the
importance of independent auditing in maintaining the reliability and effective
operation of a global system used to support maritime safety and security.
IMSO’s LRIT oversight has
continued for more than 17 years, with its audit work supporting compliance
standards across the international LRIT community.
