The MTN Congo Foundation has
provided solar energy infrastructure to the Makélékélé Reference Hospital as
part of an initiative aimed at expanding access to reliable and sustainable
energy for healthcare facilities in the Republic of Congo.
The solar panels were
officially handed over to the hospital following earlier installations at the
A. Cissé facility and Talangai Hospital.
The initiative is being
implemented under the patronage of the Ministry of Health and Population, with
technical support from Huawei and contributions from the World Health
Organization (WHO) Congo, UNESCO and other partners.
The MTN Congo Foundation
said the installation is intended to improve access to green, reliable and
sustainable energy while strengthening the operating conditions of the
Makélékélé Reference Hospital.
The initiative forms part of
the Foundation’s broader efforts to support healthcare institutions through
investments that can improve the sustainability and reliability of essential
infrastructure.
The Foundation expressed
appreciation to its partners for their support and participation in delivering
the solar energy project.
The installation at
Makélékélé adds another healthcare facility to the initiative and reflects
growing efforts to use renewable energy to support critical public services and
improve operating conditions in healthcare facilities.
