MTN South Africa has opened applications for the PachiPanda Challenge, calling on young innovators and entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 35 to develop practical solutions to some of the country’s pressing environmental challenges.

The challenge is seeking ideas that can contribute to a more sustainable, resilient and inclusive future, with opportunities open to both early-stage entrepreneurs and innovators building on existing ventures.

Priority areas include nature-based innovation, the circular economy, water conservation, regenerative agriculture, sustainable aquaculture and ecosystem restoration.

MTN South Africa said the initiative is intended to provide young innovators with an opportunity to turn practical ideas into solutions capable of creating meaningful environmental and socioeconomic impact.

Applicants are being encouraged to develop solutions that address real environmental needs while contributing to a greener and more resilient South Africa.

The initiative also aims to support entrepreneurship and innovation among young people while creating opportunities for emerging ventures to contribute to sustainable development.

Applications for the PachiPanda Challenge will close on October 4, 2026.

The challenge forms part of MTN South Africa’s wider focus on supporting youth innovation and solutions that can contribute to environmental sustainability and inclusive development.
