A total of 1,710 degree
graduands and 224 TVET students have graduated from Murang’a University of
Technology (MUT), with the Ministry of Education calling on the Class of 2026
to translate their education into innovation, enterprise and meaningful impact.
Principal Secretary for
Higher Education, Dr Beatrice Inyangala, made the call on when she joined MUT
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dickson Nyariki, for the university’s 10th Graduation
Ceremony.
Addressing the graduands, Dr
Inyangala said graduation should not be viewed as an end point but as a
“passport to greater responsibility”. She urged the graduates to apply the
knowledge and skills gained at the university to develop solutions, create enterprises,
drive innovation and contribute to society.
She also challenged Murang’a
University of Technology to strengthen its position as a leader in applied
research, technological innovation and enterprise development.
Dr Inyangala urged members
of the Class of 2026 to lead with courage and integrity, innovate with purpose,
serve with humility and use their knowledge to transform their families,
communities and Kenya.
The graduation ceremony
brought together university leaders, government representatives and other
distinguished guests, including MUT Chancellor Prof. Justin Irina, EBS, Council
Chair Dr Abel Barasa Atiti and Vice-Chancellors led by their Chairman, Prof.
Daniel Mugendi.
