Vodacom Tanzania Foundation,
in partnership with the Foundation for Civil Society (FCS) and UNICEF Tanzania,
is supporting youth-led and women-led civil society organisations (CSOs) to
strengthen their capacity to deliver sustainable programmes and improve
community impact.
The initiative is being
delivered through the Manage Your Grants (MyG) Training, which brings together
CSOs working closely with communities to address challenges affecting children
and adolescents across Tanzania.
The training focuses on
strengthening participants’ capacity to manage grants, implement programmes
effectively, measure results and build sustainable organisations capable of
delivering lasting impact.
The organisers said that
while local civil society organisations have a strong understanding of
community needs, long-term impact also requires effective organisational
systems, sustainable resources and meaningful partnerships.
For Vodacom Tanzania
Foundation, the initiative goes beyond providing financial support and seeks to
combine the community knowledge and trusted presence of locally led
organisations with the technology, networks and expertise of the private
sector.
Sandra Oswald, Manager for
Foundation and Sustainability at Vodacom Tanzania Foundation, said strong
partnerships should be built around shared challenges rather than funding
requests.
“The strongest partnerships
begin with a shared problem, not a funding request,” Oswald said.
She added that moving the
conversation from “what can you fund?” to “what can we solve together?” could
create stronger foundations for sustainable community impact.
