Channel Solutions South, (“Climb”) an international specialty technology
distributor and wholly owned subsidiary Climb Global Solutions, Inc. has announced
the expansion of its long-term investment in South Africa with the signing of a
distribution partnership with Utimaco, a leading global provider of IT security
solutions. The partnership will also cover the rest of Africa, Indian Ocean
Islands and the Nordics.
Climb
brings Utimaco's digital trust, encryption, and cryptographic security
portfolio to local partners, helping them address growing customer demand
around compliance, resilience, data sovereignty, and post-quantum readiness.
The evolving cybersecurity landscape across South Africa is creating new
opportunities for partners to address broader business priorities around
compliance, operational resilience, data sovereignty and long-term data
protection.
With
local and regional expertise sitting alongside the scale and reach of a global
distributor, Climb will enable partners to identify new market opportunities,
build specialist expertise and develop service-led offerings that address
growing demand for cryptographic security and digital trust capabilities.
Specifically,
South Africa’s financial services sector represents a significant opportunity
for channel partners as banks and financial institutions increasingly
prioritise data protection, regulatory compliance and operational resilience.
By bringing Utimaco’s specialist cryptographic security solutions to local
partners, Climb is helping the channel address some of the most demanding
security requirements across financial services, government and critical
infrastructure environments.
This
latest partnership follows Climb’s official launch in South Africa in May, which was announced
alongside Sophos, a global leader of innovative security solutions. The move to
South Africa marked the next step in Climb’s EMEA expansion strategy, and
followed successful moves into the UK, DACH, Ireland and Southeastern Europe.
Gerard Brophy, CRO, Climb commented: “Through this partnership,
Climb will help partners expand beyond traditional cybersecurity conversations
and engage customers around encryption, digital trust, data sovereignty,
identity protection, and post-quantum readiness, which will create new
opportunities for value-added services and long-term customer relationships.
This partnership with Utimaco also strengthens Climb's long-term commitment to
bringing leading cybersecurity, compliance, and resilience technologies to
African partners.”
As
part of the partnership, Climb and Utimaco will launch the ‘Trust &
Resilience Roadshow’, bringing together partners, customers, and industry
experts in Cape Town on 8 September and Pretoria on 10 September. The events
will explore the growing importance of compliance, digital trust, post-quantum
readiness, and AI-era cyber security, while helping partners and their
customers understand how to build secure foundations for future growth.
