Djibouti’s Digital Economy Minister visits Leadership and Entrepreneurship Centre to strengthen innovation ecosystem

Minister Delegate for Digital Economy and Innovation, H.E. Mrs. Safia Mohamed Ali Gadileh, has paid her first official visit to the Center for Leadership and Entrepreneurship (CLE), reaffirming the government's commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, innovation and digital transformation in Djibouti.

The minister was accompanied by the Secretary General, ministry advisors and the Administrative and Financial Director during the visit, where they were received by the Director General of the Centre, Mr. Chehem Mohamed Abdallah.

The visit provided an opportunity for the minister and her delegation to gain first-hand insight into the various support mechanisms and programmes implemented by the Centre to promote entrepreneurship and innovation. Discussions focused on initiatives aimed at supporting startups, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and accelerating the country's digital transformation agenda.

The delegation also engaged with members of the Centre's team as well as entrepreneurs benefiting from its programmes, allowing for an exchange of ideas on challenges, opportunities and strategies for strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Speaking during the visit, officials emphasized the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship as key drivers of economic growth, job creation and sustainable development. The Centre's programmes were highlighted as critical tools for empowering young entrepreneurs and equipping businesses with the skills and resources needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy.

The visit underscores the Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation's continued efforts to support the development of a dynamic national entrepreneurial ecosystem. It also reflects the government's broader vision of promoting innovation, enhancing the competitiveness of Djiboutian enterprises and creating new opportunities for the country's youth through digital transformation.

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to working closely with stakeholders across the public and private sectors to strengthen innovation-led growth and accelerate Djibouti's digital development objectives.
