Guinea’s
Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy, Rose Pola
Pricemou has been appointed to the
Digital Innovation Board of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The appointment was officially confirmed on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at
the ITU headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
This
prestigious appointment places Minister Pricemou among a select group of
high-level global leaders on the ITU’s strategic advisory body, reflecting
Guinea’s growing influence in international digital governance. The appointment
underscores the country’s commitment to placing digital transformation at the
heart of its national development strategy, in line with the vision of the Head
of State.
In her new
role, Minister Pricemou will advocate for key priorities such as digital
inclusion, bridging the digital divide, and promoting technological innovation
as a catalyst for economic growth and opportunity—particularly for youth and
women. She emphasized that the appointment not only enhances Guinea’s
visibility on the global stage but also affirms the international community’s
confidence in her leadership and dedication to leveraging digital tools for
socio-economic development.
The appointment
