MTN Uganda launches inaugural Sustainability Report demonstrating Comprehensive social impact

MTN Uganda has launched its first Sustainability Report, highlighting the telecommunications company's substantial contributions to national development beyond traditional connectivity services. The unveiling ceremony brought together key leadership including CEO, Sylvia Mulinge, Board Chairman, Charles Mbire, and GM Corporate Services, Enid Edroma, alongside government representatives State Minister for ICT Hon. Godfrey Baluku Kabyanga and Bank of Uganda Governor, Dr. Michael Atingi-Ego.

The comprehensive report documents MTN Uganda's multifaceted approach to sustainable development, showcasing achievements across environmental stewardship, social investment, and economic empowerment. Notable accomplishments include the reduction of carbon footprint through renewable energy adoption at more than 500 sites, significant expansion of 4G and 5G network coverage, and extensive digital skills training programs for Ugandan youth.

The report emphasizes the company's commitment to creating shared value through initiatives that extend beyond commercial operations to address broader societal needs.
