Togo’s National
Cybersecurity Agency (ANCy) has taken its national cybersecurity awareness
campaign to Elavagnon in the Est-Mono prefecture, engaging residents on digital
threats, online safety and practical measures to protect themselves from
cyberattacks.
The awareness exercise was
held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, as the agency continued its nationwide
tour aimed at bringing cybersecurity education closer to communities across the
country.
The Elavagnon visit marked
the second stage of the tour and provided an opportunity for the ANCy to engage
residents and communities in and around the area on the growing risks
associated with the use of digital technologies.
Discussions focused on
common digital threats, everyday online risks and social media security, with
particular attention to the basic precautions and responsible behaviours users
can adopt to protect their accounts, devices and personal information.
The agency used the
engagement to promote practical cybersecurity habits, stressing that awareness
and early adoption of appropriate security measures can help reduce exposure to
cyber threats.
The agency said
cybersecurity must be understood, accessible and practised by everyone, as
individual actions and responsible digital behaviour can contribute to stronger
protection against cyber incidents.
