MTN Group has
confirmed that Nompilo Morafo will continue serving as Group Chief
Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer. Her retention in this critical
role underscores the telecommunications giant's commitment to maintaining
continuity in its sustainability agenda and stakeholder relations during a
period of substantial organizational change.
Ms. Morafo's
continued leadership comes as MTN streamlines its focus into three core
business platforms – Connectivity, Fintech, and Digital Infrastructure – while
advancing its Ambition 2025 strategy. Her position within the redesigned
executive committee reflects the growing importance of sustainability and
corporate affairs in the Group's operational framework and long-term value
creation.
As Group Chief
Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer, Morafo oversees MTN's
comprehensive environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, which
have become increasingly central to the company's license to operate across its
19 African markets. Her responsibilities encompass driving the company's
net-zero commitments, promoting digital inclusion, and maintaining constructive
relationships with regulators, communities, and other stakeholders.

Under Nompilo
Morafo guidance, MTN has made significant strides in its ESG performance,
including advancements in renewable energy adoption, digital literacy programs,
and governance enhancements. Her department has been instrumental in developing
the company's reporting frameworks and ensuring alignment with global
sustainability standards.
The executive
reshuffle, effective 1 November 2025, sees several other key appointments and
realignments, including the expansion of Group CFO Tsholofelo Molefe's
responsibilities to include mergers and acquisitions, and the appointment of
Ferdi Moolman as the new CEO of MTN South Africa. Despite these changes,
Morafo's consistent presence provides stability in the corporate affairs and
sustainability functions that support MTN's operations across diverse African
markets. The Board expressed confidence in Morafo's ability to continue driving
MTN's sustainability agenda forward, particularly as the company works toward
its medium-term goals of enhancing digital and financial inclusion across
Africa.
