Egypt’s Information
Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has announced six winning teams
in DevOps Hackathon 2026, which shared EGP 590,000 in prize money at the ninth
edition of DevOpsDays Cairo.
Held under the theme
“Automate, Accelerate, and Innovate with DevOps and AI,” the hackathon
attracted 142 teams, with 20 advancing to the final round. The finalists
comprised 10 university student teams and 10 teams of graduates and
professionals.
In the university student
category, Team a won first place and EGP 90,000 for developing an intelligent
assistant that diagnoses system issues and identifies their root causes. Team
Ne3Na3 (Mint) placed second, receiving EGP 70,000 for an AI-powered tool that
synchronises code, documentation and diagrams with system changes.
Team Fo2 El-Sa7ab (Above the
Clouds) took third place and EGP 50,000 for creating a secure environment for
testing AI tools before deployment to identify risks and reduce potential
errors.
In the graduates and
professionals category, Team MarsadOps (Ops observatory) secured first place
and EGP 160,000 for a system that tracks the costs and operational efficiency
of AI tools used by companies in real time.
Team DevOps Titans placed
second, winning EGP 120,000 for a tool that automates project setup and
deployment while scanning for security issues before release. Team SYNAI came
third and received EGP 100,000 for a wearable device paired with an AI-powered
system that issues early alerts when it detects changes that may indicate a
health or safety issue for a child.
A panel of 12 experts,
comprising six Egyptian and six international judges, evaluated the projects
based on innovation and creativity, relevance to the hackathon’s theme and
objectives, practicality and impact, technical execution, usability and user experience,
and the quality of presentations and live demonstrations.
The hackathon showcased the
capabilities of Egyptian developers in building practical solutions to
challenges in software development, operations and business processes.
DevOpsDays Cairo took place at
Creativa Innovation Hub in Giza and was organised by the Software Engineering
Competence Center (SECC), part of ITIDA, under the theme “Sustaining
Development and Operations Practices in the Age of Agentic AI.”
The event brought together
experts, specialists and researchers in software development, operations,
engineering, AI and cloud computing to exchange knowledge, share practical
experience and discuss emerging technology trends.
