The Ministry of
Telecommunications and Digital Affairs and Nokia have signed a partnership
agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation in support of Senegal’s digital
transformation and national digital priorities.
The agreement was signed in
Dakar during a ceremony held at the President Mamadou Dia Administrative
Building, in the presence of the ambassadors of Finland and the European Union
to Senegal.
The Ministry was represented
by its Secretary General, Mr. Serigne Ahmadou Bamba Sy.
Aligned with the ambitions
of the New Deal Technologique, the agreement establishes a framework for
cooperation in network connectivity and resilience, cybersecurity, digital
public services, innovation and skills development.
Under the partnership, the
two parties will identify priority initiatives, define their objectives and
study the modalities for their implementation.
Particular attention will be
given to skills transfer, the creation of local value and the measurement of
results as the two sides develop initiatives under the agreement.
The next steps include
establishing monitoring mechanisms under the Convention and developing a joint
programme of activities.
Selected projects may
subsequently be subject to specific implementing agreements and will follow the
applicable procedures.
