MTN MoMo Guinea has selected
SkaleTek to provide technology solutions, in a move presented as a step towards
greater reliance on locally developed and managed technology in Guinea.
The selection was described
as part of an approach to strengthen local technological capacity, particularly
for critical infrastructure, by using solutions designed, mastered and operated
by Guinean technology professionals.
“Because from now on, in
Guinea, we no longer need to import our solutions. Excellence is built at
home,” the company said.
It added that “when it comes
to critical infrastructure, there is no substitute for technology designed,
mastered and operated by Guineans who understand the terrain.”
The company also linked the
partnership to a broader push for economic sovereignty, saying such sovereignty
“begins with a choice, that of trusting one's family.”
The selection also places
emphasis on compliance, with SkaleTek highlighting its responsibility to
support Guinean companies with compliance standards aimed at maintaining the
trust of partners, regulators and customers.
The company expressed
appreciation to Director Fode Mamoudou Keita and the entire MoMo from MTN
Guinea team for the confidence placed in SkaleTek.
