Namibia’s Ministry of
Information and Communication Technology has launched the Harmonised Government
Communication Strategy 2026–2030 and the Government Corporate Brand Identity
Manual to strengthen consistency, credibility and coordination in government
communication.
Both instruments were
approved by Cabinet in March 2026 and provide a framework for how government
communicates with citizens across official channels.
The Harmonised Government
Communication Strategy is designed to promote coordinated, timely and
meaningful communication between government and the public, while the Corporate
Brand Identity Manual establishes a common visual identity for government institutions.
Launching the instruments,
Minister of Information and Communication Technology Hon. Emma Theofelus said
they should be viewed not merely as administrative tools but as instruments for
building public trust.
She said the strategy and
manual are intended to ensure that government communicates with citizens “with
one voice” and creates a stronger connection between public institutions and
the people they serve.
Under the new framework,
official government statements, websites, social media platforms and documents
bearing the national Coat of Arms are expected to reflect greater consistency
and credibility while maintaining a more human-centred approach to public
communication.
The strategy seeks to
improve coordination across government institutions and strengthen the quality
and effectiveness of information provided to citizens.
