Senegal and Morocco are
deepening cooperation in the digital sector as both countries seek to
strengthen innovation, entrepreneurship and technology-driven economic
development.
Senegal’s Minister of
Telecommunications and Digital Affairs, Samba Diouf, held discussions with
Morocco’s Ambassador to Senegal, Hassan Naciri, focused on expanding bilateral
collaboration in the digital field.
The meeting reaffirmed the
longstanding historical and diplomatic ties between the two countries and
highlighted their shared commitment to advancing mutually beneficial
partnerships in technology and digital transformation.
Discussions centred on key
areas including digital entrepreneurship, associated digital services,
innovation ecosystems, investment opportunities and initiatives aimed at
creating jobs and economic value through technology.
Both sides agreed to
continue technical consultations to consolidate ongoing cooperation and support
the implementation of agreed commitments within a balanced and legally secure
framework.
The collaboration reflects
the growing importance of regional partnerships in advancing Africa’s digital
economy, with countries increasingly seeking to share expertise, strengthen
innovation ecosystems and develop technology solutions tailored to local needs.
During the engagement,
Minister Diouf also extended congratulations to Morocco’s King Mohammed VI, the
Moroccan government and its people on the occasion of Throne Day, expressing
wishes for continued peace, prosperity and progress.
