The Ministry of ICT and
National Guidance has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing digital
transformation in public service delivery following an inspection of the
ongoing development of the Tororo Service Uganda Centre.
Permanent Secretary of the
Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Aminah Zawedde, joined
the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Service and other key
stakeholders for a joint site inspection to assess progress on renovation works
at the facility.
The Tororo Service Uganda
Centre is part of the government’s “One Government, One Service, One Citizen
Experience” initiative, which seeks to transform how citizens access public
services through integrated and efficient service delivery systems.
During the inspection,
stakeholders assessed the incorporation of critical digital infrastructure,
including connectivity, interoperability, cybersecurity and data protection
measures, to ensure the centre is designed to provide secure and seamless services
to citizens.
The Ministry of ICT and
National Guidance said embedding technology and security considerations from
the design stage will strengthen the effectiveness of e-Government systems and
improve the overall citizen experience when accessing government services.
The development of Service
Uganda Centres forms part of Uganda’s broader digital transformation agenda
aimed at increasing efficiency, improving access to public services and
promoting a more connected and responsive government.
