Angola’s National Space
Program Management Office (GGPEN) has been recognised by the Institute of
Telecommunications (ITEL) for its contribution to technical training,
innovation and the development of young technology talents.
GGPEN received an Honourable
Mention during the 5th Edition of ITEL’s Diploma Award Ceremony held on
Saturday, July 25, in recognition of its collaboration with the institute and
its support towards strengthening the skills of ITEL students.
The recognition highlights
GGPEN’s role in promoting technical and professional education, encouraging
technological innovation and supporting the development of national human
capital in Angola’s technology and space sectors.
The ceremony also celebrated
the graduation of three young talents who are currently participating in
GGPEN’s internship programme. António da Silva, 19, Mawete Quihila, 20, and
Rodrigo da Silva, 18, received their high school diplomas after completing programmes
in Computer Science and Computer Science and Multimedia Systems.
The three graduates were
selected from among ITEL’s top-performing finalists to join the GGPEN
internship programme, where they are gaining practical experience and
contributing to technology projects with strategic importance to Angola’s
digital and space development agenda.
The event was attended by
Secretary of State for Social Communication Nuno Caldas, Secretary of State for
Secondary Education Soraya Kalongela, GGPEN Director General Zolana João,
Chairman of the Board of Directors of FADCOM Américo dos Santos, as well as
representatives from the education, telecommunications and information
technology sectors.
GGPEN said the partnership
with ITEL reflects its continued commitment to nurturing young talent and
creating opportunities for the next generation of professionals who will
contribute to innovation, digital transformation and the growth of Angola’s
space industry.
