The Campania Aerospace
District (DAC) of Italy and Ankara-based aerospace and defence cluster Ostim
Savunma Ve Havacılık Kümelenmesi (OSSA) have signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) to strengthen industrial cooperation and promote joint
projects and technological collaborations between Campania and Türkiye.
The agreement was signed at
Confindustria Caserta by Luigi Carrino, President of DAC, and Ibrahim Yarsan,
Chairman of OSSA, following a three-day visit by a Turkish delegation to
Italy's Campania region.
Organised by DAC, the visit
featured business-to-business (B2B) meetings, company visits and technological
exchanges aimed at creating opportunities for cooperation between companies in
the two aerospace and defence ecosystems.
During the visit, the
Turkish delegation gained firsthand insight into Campania's industrial and
technological capabilities through visits to several DAC member companies.
These included LAER S.p.A.,
which specialises in the manufacturing and assembly of metallic and composite
aerostructures; SAB Aerospace, which designs and manufactures complex
mechanical systems for space applications; and Mare Group, which focuses on anti-vibration
systems, protection of sensitive equipment and defence solutions.
The delegation also visited
CTMAVIO, a Mare Group company specialising in precision machining for aircraft
engines, aircraft and drones; A.Abete srl, which manufactures precision
components and assemblies for aircraft engines and aerostructures; CIRA – Centro
Italiano Ricerche Aerospaziali; and CMD Srl, which focuses on the design and
development of advanced engines and propulsion systems.
The initiative is expected
to lay the groundwork for new industrial partnerships, joint projects and
technological collaborations, translating international dialogue into tangible
opportunities for aerospace and defence industries in Campania and Türkiye.
