Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of Digital Transition and Technological Innovation has urged members of parliament to adopt artificial intelligence tools to optimise their work, better exploit information and strengthen their exchanges with the population.

The minister made the call during a conference titled “AI at the Service of Parliament”, held on Monday, October 12, 2026, at the National Assembly.

“Artificial intelligence assists the judgment of the deputy, it does not replace him,” he said, insisting on the primacy of human responsibility.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to present Côte d’Ivoire’s digital ambitions, supported by a 2026–2028 digital acceleration roadmap comprising seven pillars and 40 structuring projects.

The roadmap focuses on modernising public administration, developing innovation, strengthening skills and deploying a national artificial intelligence system that is sovereign and adapted to Ivorian realities.

Through the “Training Those Who Decide” programme, more than 2,000 decision-makers and elected officials are involved in efforts to build capacity and make AI a practical tool for decision-making and improved public action.

The initiative aims to accelerate the country’s digital transformation, strengthen its ability to manage AI applications and put innovation at the service of the population.
