Rwanda and Benin have agreed
to strengthen existing bilateral cooperation and pursue new areas of
collaboration as the two countries seek to translate shared priorities into
concrete outcomes.
The commitment was made
during a meeting between Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame and Benin’s President
Romuald Wadagni at Urugwiro Village in Rwanda, marking the start of President
Wadagni’s two-day official visit to the country.
President Kagame and
President Wadagni held a tête-à-tête meeting before tasking their respective
delegations with advancing discussions on bilateral cooperation.
The two Heads of State
directed their delegations to strengthen existing areas of cooperation while
identifying new opportunities for collaboration between Rwanda and Benin.
The discussions are expected
to focus on translating shared priorities into practical initiatives and
concrete outcomes that can further deepen relations between the two countries.
President Wadagni’s official
visit forms part of ongoing diplomatic engagement between Rwanda and Benin and
provides an opportunity for both sides to review existing cooperation and
explore additional areas of mutual interest.
The two-day visit is
expected to further advance bilateral relations as the respective delegations
work on areas identified by the Heads of State.
