The United Nations
Development Programme (UNDP) Ghana and the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) have
discussed opportunities to strengthen collaboration on cybersecurity and
digital resilience as Ghana accelerates its digital transformation.
The discussions took place
during an engagement between CSA Director-General Divine Selase Agbeti and UNDP
Ghana Resident Representative Niloy Banerjee.
The meeting focused on
emerging cybersecurity challenges and opportunities for joint action to
strengthen Ghana’s cyber resilience and support the development of a safer
digital environment.
The engagement comes as
digital technologies continue to play an increasingly important role in Ghana’s
economic and social development, creating new opportunities while also exposing
individuals, businesses and institutions to evolving cyber threats.
The two institutions
emphasised the importance of stronger partnerships and coordinated approaches
to addressing cybersecurity risks and building trust in Ghana’s digital
ecosystem.
The collaboration is
expected to contribute to efforts aimed at ensuring that the country’s digital
transformation is supported by appropriate cybersecurity measures, resilience
and institutional capacity.
The engagement also
underscores the growing role of partnerships between government institutions
and development organisations in advancing Ghana’s cybersecurity agenda and
ensuring that digital progress is matched by security and public trust.
