The Government of Togo has
officially launched the process to revise its Education Sector Plan (PSE),
marking the beginning of a new phase in shaping the country's education policy
and priorities for the years ahead.
The process was launched on
July 23, 2026, by the Ministry of National Education with support from
technical and financial partners, including UNICEF.
The revised Education Sector
Plan will serve as the country's strategic framework for education development,
guiding reforms aimed at addressing current and emerging challenges across the
sector.
According to the Ministry,
the review process will adopt a participatory and inclusive approach, bringing
together key stakeholders to define priorities that respond to the evolving
needs of learners, educators, and institutions.
The revision will focus on
improving the quality of learning, promoting inclusive, equitable, and
accessible education, reducing educational inequalities, and strengthening the
capacity of the education system to prepare children and young people for future
opportunities and challenges.
The initiative also seeks to
build a more resilient education system capable of ensuring that all children
have access to quality education and the opportunity to develop their full
potential.
The Government and its
development partners said the updated Education Sector Plan will provide the
policy direction needed to strengthen education outcomes and support Togo's
broader social and economic development objectives.
