Kenya Airways has joined efforts with key stakeholders to raise awareness on human trafficking and promote community action against the crime as part of activities marking World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

The airline, in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and other stakeholders, participated in a community outreach programme in Shauri Moyo aimed at educating residents on human trafficking prevention and response mechanisms.

The engagement focused on increasing public understanding of human trafficking, including available reporting channels, the rights and responsibilities of victims, rescue mechanisms and the role communities can play in identifying and preventing trafficking activities.

Kenya Airways said the initiative reflects its commitment to supporting programmes that protect vulnerable communities and promote safe and dignified travel.

The airline noted that partnerships with government agencies, international organisations and community stakeholders remain critical in addressing human trafficking and ensuring greater awareness of the risks associated with the crime.

Through continued collaboration, Kenya Airways said it will continue supporting initiatives that contribute to the protection of individuals, strengthening community resilience and advancing efforts to combat human trafficking.
