The Communications
Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) and the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (NCCI) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) aimed at advancing
digital transformation and strengthening Namibia’s digital economy.
The strategic partnership
will focus on key areas including digital transformation, cybersecurity,
electronic trade and regulatory reform, with an emphasis on empowering micro,
small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and promoting inclusive participation
in the digital economy.
Under the agreement, both
institutions will collaborate on initiatives designed to support businesses,
improve digital adoption and create an enabling environment for innovation and
connectivity across Namibia.
A Joint Steering Committee
will oversee the implementation of the three-year partnership, ensuring
coordinated planning, monitoring and delivery of agreed initiatives.
The collaboration reflects
growing efforts by Namibia’s public and private sector stakeholders to leverage
technology as a driver of economic growth, business competitiveness and social
inclusion.
Through the partnership,
CRAN and NCCI aim to strengthen digital resilience, enhance cybersecurity
awareness and support businesses in adapting to emerging digital opportunities.
The two organisations said
the agreement represents a commitment to building a secure, innovative and
digitally empowered Namibia where businesses and citizens can benefit from the
opportunities created by the digital economy.
