MTN Rwanda has joined government and industry stakeholders in discussions aimed at advancing the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) as part of Rwanda’s broader digital transformation agenda.

The telecom operator participated in an AI Roundtable convened by the Ministry of ICT and Innovation (MINICT), bringing together stakeholders to explore opportunities for collaboration, innovation and the role of emerging technologies in accelerating national development.

The engagement focused on shaping Rwanda’s AI ecosystem, with participants discussing strategies for responsible AI deployment and how partnerships across government, private sector and technology communities can support the country’s digital ambitions.

MTN Rwanda said the roundtable provided an opportunity to contribute to conversations around the future of artificial intelligence and explore ways technology can create greater value across sectors.

The company highlighted the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in ensuring that AI development is inclusive, ethical and aligned with Rwanda’s digital transformation priorities.

Rwanda has positioned digital innovation and emerging technologies as key drivers of economic growth, with artificial intelligence increasingly recognised as a tool for improving public services, strengthening businesses and creating new opportunities.
