Kenya has renewed its
commitment to leveraging cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) to
enhance public service delivery, strengthen digital infrastructure and
accelerate the country’s digital transformation agenda.
Speaking at the Oracle
Public Sector Ministerial and Senior Leadership Summit, H.E. William Kabogo
Gitau joined senior government officials, development partners and technology
experts to discuss practical approaches for using emerging technologies to support
national development.
The discussions focused on
how cloud computing and AI can be deployed to improve government services,
promote innovation and build a more digitally empowered society.
Kabogo emphasized the
importance of strategic partnerships with global technology companies in
strengthening Kenya’s digital ecosystem, particularly in areas such as secure
infrastructure, data sovereignty and responsible AI adoption.
He said collaboration with
technology partners such as Oracle will help support the development of
efficient, citizen-centred public services while advancing Kenya’s broader
digital transformation objectives.
The summit also highlighted
the role of government policies, digital skills development and
investment-friendly frameworks in enabling the adoption of emerging
technologies.
Kabogo reaffirmed the
government’s commitment to implementing Kenya’s Cloud Policy, expanding digital
skills, modernising public sector operations and creating opportunities for
young people through innovation and technology.
He noted that Kenya’s
digital agenda remains focused on building a secure and inclusive digital
economy capable of driving economic growth and improving the delivery of
services to citizens.
