Vodacash, in partnership
with Bisou Bisou Microfinance, has launched a new digital financial solution,
Lona To Defa, aimed at expanding access to savings and credit services for
people across the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The solution, integrated
with Vodacom’s M-Pesa platform, enables users to save securely and access
credit facilities directly through their mobile phones, providing a convenient
alternative for individuals and small businesses seeking financial services.
The official launch ceremony
was attended by the Governor of the Banque Centrale du Congo, who demonstrated
support for the initiative by opening a Lona To Defa account during the event.
The launch also brought
together stakeholders from the financial sector, highlighting growing
collaboration among industry players to build a more accessible and innovative
digital finance ecosystem in the country.
Vodacash said Lona To Defa
is designed to address everyday financial needs by making savings easier,
improving access to credit and supporting households, entrepreneurs and small
businesses in pursuing their economic goals.
The initiative forms part of
Vodacash’s broader commitment to promoting financial inclusion in the
Democratic Republic of Congo by leveraging mobile technology to connect more
people to secure and affordable financial services.
