MTN South Africa has hosted
the Portfolio Committee on Communications and Digital Technologies at its
headquarters for discussions focused on strengthening collaboration to
accelerate the country’s digital transformation and expand inclusive
connectivity.
The delegation, led by
Portfolio Committee Chairperson Khusela Diko, was received by MTN South Africa
Chief Executive Officer Ferdi Moolman and members of the company’s executive
committee.
The visit provided an
opportunity for MTN to showcase its network operations, strategic priorities
and ongoing investments in digital infrastructure aimed at expanding broadband
access and supporting South Africa’s growing digital economy.
During the engagement, MTN
highlighted its commitment to investing in resilient communications networks,
driving digital innovation and developing technology platforms that enable
individuals, businesses and communities to participate more effectively in the
digital economy.
Discussions also covered key
issues shaping the telecommunications sector, including digital innovation,
infrastructure investment, consumer interests and the importance of
collaboration between industry, government and regulators.
MTN said partnerships across
the public and private sectors remain essential to building an inclusive and
digitally connected South Africa while creating an enabling environment for
sustainable economic growth.
