Djibouti, Japan hold talks to deepen cooperation in digital Economy and innovation

Djibouti and Japan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in the digital economy following talks between Djibouti's Minister Delegate for Digital Economy and Innovation, Safia Mohamed Ali Gadileh, and Japan's Ambassador to Djibouti.

The meeting focused on expanding collaboration in key areas including digital technology, innovation, skills development and digital transformation as both countries seek to deepen their partnership in support of Djibouti's digital development agenda.

During the discussions, the two sides explored opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation aimed at accelerating the adoption of digital technologies and supporting innovation-driven economic growth.

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation said the engagement reflects its commitment to building stronger international partnerships that will contribute to the modernization of public services and the development of a vibrant digital ecosystem.

The ministry noted that collaboration with international partners remains central to its efforts to advance digital transformation, strengthen human capital development and promote innovation as a driver of sustainable economic development.

The meeting forms part of Djibouti's broader strategy to expand international cooperation in the digital sector while leveraging global partnerships to accelerate the country's digital transformation and improve public service delivery.
