The Digital Cooperation
Organization (DCO) and the United Nations Office for Digital and Emerging
Technologies (ODET) have explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration on
artificial intelligence governance, digital inclusion and digital infrastructure
investment.
The discussions took place
during a meeting between DCO Secretary-General Deemah AlYahya and United
Nations Under-Secretary-General and Special Envoy for Digital and Emerging
Technologies, Amandeep Gill, on the sidelines of international digital governance
engagements in Geneva.
The meeting focused on
advancing cooperation in support of the Global Digital Compact, the United
Nations framework aimed at fostering an open, secure, inclusive and resilient
digital future through enhanced international collaboration.
According to the DCO, the
discussions examined practical areas for joint action, including AI governance,
expanding digital inclusion and promoting investment in digital infrastructure
to accelerate sustainable digital transformation.
Both sides emphasized the
importance of translating shared commitments into tangible outcomes through
strategic partnerships that strengthen digital cooperation at the global level.
